Small Area Characteristics
Improve Demographic Targeting & Segmentation With Equifax’s Census-Based Enhancement File!
The Equifax Small Area Characteristics Database allows marketers to significantly improve demographic targeting and segmentation efforts by enhancing their lists with detailed information derived from the 2000 U.S. Census.
The U.S. Census Bureau collected information on more than 500 data element categories during the 2000 Census. Equifax conducted a detailed analysis of raw 2000 Census information to create the latest version of the Small Area Characteristics Database file. Marketers can apply this database to EVERY residential tract, block/group and ZIP code in the country. By enhancing their lists with information from the Small Area Characteristics Database file, Equifax clients are able to improve demographic targeting and bottom-line results.
The latest release of the Small Area Characteristics Database file contains 52 new data elements and incorporates a series of proprietary calculations based on the 2000 Census. The new elements capture information about the Hispanic sector – our nation’s most rapidly growing consumer group – and offer new age break-outs for income, vehicle and disability statistics. This release also provides new occupation categories.
The Small Area Characteristics Database file contains Equifax’s unique, custom calculations that enhance government statistics. These calculations cover data segments such as median and mean age, average income, travel time, median school years and numerous others.
